Workspace Community Manager - Leading Brand
The bit about us
x+why was founded in 2019 by three determined entrepreneurs with a clear mission: business should be a force for good. For us, that means considering people and planet alongside profit, and we’re incredibly proud to be a Certified B Corp.
Today we operate over 400,000 sq ft of hospitality-led coworking, event, and members’ clubspaces for 5,000+ members. With a total of 15 sites, you’ll find us in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Milton Keynes, with more launches on the horizon!!

The bit about the role
Full transparency, this probably isn’t the job for you if...
you want to sit behind a desk all day.
you prefer every day to look the same.
you like jobs where you can quietly stay in the background.
Because being our Community Manager at Chiswick Works means being involved in all parts of the building.
You’ll know which member has just landed a new client. Which company needs more space because they’re growing. Which supplier is running late. Which new member needs a bit more support settling in. You’ll notice when the atmosphere feels low and when people need bringing together.
At x+why, we talk a lot about “meet us in the moments” - the conversations, introductions, events, and everyday interactions that make a space feel like more than just somewhere people come to work. This role plays a big part in creating those moments.
Some mornings might start with a member viewing. Others with setting up a Better Breakfast, organising a yoga session, supporting a move in, or coordinating contractors before the building gets busy. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what makes the role interesting.
The space
Chiswick Works is flooded with natural light and spans three floors with a mix of enterprise suites, private offices, and coworking space. Our members come from a wide range of industries, from pharma and healthcare to interior design and creative businesses.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the main point of contact for members, guests, and visitors, helping to create a space that feels welcoming, and well looked after. Alongside supporting members day-to-day, you’ll oversee the operational side of the building - managing suppliers, contractors, facilities relationships, budgets, invoices, and maintaining standards across the site.
You’ll also help shape the community side of the building through events, wellbeing initiatives, and creating opportunities for members to connect more naturally with each other. The role also includes hosting viewings, supporting renewals, and dealing with the inevitable ad hoc challenges that come with running a thriving workspace.
The bit about you
You’re organised, approachable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once. You enjoy working with people, stay calm under pressure, and take pride in creating an environment that members genuinely want to spend time in.
Experience in flexible workspace, hospitality, operations, or another member-focused environment would be helpful, but attitude and approach matter just as much.
Why x+why?
We want you to enjoy coming to work. Even on Mondays.
To make sure of this we will provide you with a phenomenal environment - think inspiring design, cutting edge tech, stunning views, great coffee, and lots and lots of plants!
Plus, you’ll be part of our hugely supportive, collaborative team, who although take their members’ experience very seriously, also want to have a little fun along the way.

There is no denying that AI has it's uses, however we would love your cover letter to accurately reflect you. It doesn't have to be an essay - short and succinct is all that is needed, but written by you, with your own unique voice is absolutely encouraged!
