It’s a moment, a welcome, an invitation to connect.  The Arding Rooms is x+why's newest Private Members Club, located within the beautifully restored Arding & Hobbs building in the heart of Clapham Junction. Blending the iconic Art Deco era, with a modern creative spirit, we have created a space where high end hospitality meets community, comfort and style.

Having recently opened we are looking for a professional and energetic Bar Manager to lead our incredibly talented bar team!

A bit about us:

Housed in a Grade II listed building, we are Clapham’s first private members club,  designed to feel more like a second home, not a scene. Just a vibrant mix of creatives, freelancers, founders and locals who love good food, good company and good vibes.

Open 7 days per week, from 8am to late, our members can join us for their morning coffee or smoothie on the roof terrace, enjoy chilled lunches and dinners with friends, and get involved with some late night fun, with live music and resident DJ's on Thursday/Friday and Saturday evenings. 

A bit about the role:

As Bar Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the bar experience, from curating a beautiful, seasonal drinks menu, to leading a small team of passionate bartenders and baristas. But above all, your role will be to engage and connect with our members, ensuring they feel completely at ease, so they can truly relax and enjoy our space! 

• Lead day-to-day bar operations, ensuring consistency, excellence, and compliance
• Recruit, train and motivate a small team of bartenders and baristas
• Curate a drinks menu, including seasonal cocktails plus low/no options
• Manage stock, ordering, GP, and wastage control
• Collaborate with the General Manager on member events and activation's
• Uphold a culture of warmth, professionalism, and exceptional member experience

A bit about you:

• Proven experience managing a premium bar or hospitality venue
• Passionate about drinks, service, and creating memorable member experiences
• Exceptional communication skills - upbeat, outgoing and positive attitude
• Organised and commercially astute
• Confident using EPOS and stock management systems
• Enjoys the buzz of being busy and under the pump 
• Personal licence holder (desirable)
