Sous Chef - New Private Members Club
The Arding Rooms is not just another kitchen. We are a brand new private members club opening next month in the heart of Clapham Junction, inside the stunningly restored Arding & Hobbs building – a local landmark full of history and character.
We’re creating a space that blends heritage with modern charm: relaxed yet refined, elegant but full of warmth. Think slow morning brunches on our rooftop terrace, golden-hour cocktails in the bar, seasonal dinners that feel both comforting and special — and a kitchen team that takes pride in it all.
We’re now looking for a Sous Chef to join us mid May to help bring this vision to life.
What makes The Arding Rooms different?
Housed in a Grade II listed building, we’re Clapham’s first Private Members' Club – designed to feel like a second home, not a scene. Just a vibrant mix of creatives, freelancers, founders and locals who love good food, good company and good vibes.
Our menus will be seasonal, local, and unfussy – with an ethical, ingredient-led approach. From relaxed weekday lunches to lively weekend brunches, we want food that feels honest, beautiful, and full of soul.
We’re building a culture of collaboration, creativity and kindness – where everyone feels valued and has space to grow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the Head Chef in all areas of kitchen leadership
- Helping design and execute fresh, exciting menus
- Leading the team during busy services and keeping things running smoothly
- Training and mentoring junior chefs
- Managing orders, stock and costs efficiently
- Ensuring the kitchen meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safet
- The Club will be operate full service 7 days a week
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a quality-led kitchen
- Is passionate about flavour, freshness, and beautiful presentation
- Loves creating a calm, positive environment for the team
- Brings ideas to the table and isn’t afraid to try something new
- Wants to be part of a club that feels like home – for members and staff
